David Easley (Professor of Music Theory at Oklahoma City University)

Dave Easley is Professor of Music Theory at Oklahoma City University. He has published and presented research on the analysis of American hardcore punk and metal as well as the music of Giuseppe Verdi. He has also served on the editorial board for the Engaging Students: Essays in Music Pedagogy series since 2014 and as an outside reviewer for Oxford University Press and Music Theory Online. Dave is also a dedicated pedagogue and mental health advocate, and in 2016 he was selected as the recipient of Oklahoma City University’s Excellence in Teaching award. In his non-work time, Dave loves to ride bikes on old country roads and to hang out with his wife and three cats.
